José Luis Puche (Spain, 1976) holds a PhD in art history. His career as an artist began in 2005 when he held his first solo exhibition at his home. Just three years later, in 2008, he broke onto the international scene. Drawing proves to be a truly astonishing technical skill, due to his self-taught and uninhibited approach that revolves around his work. As a painter, his learning begins in early childhood and is the slow result of a fierce determination, and he owes both his technical knowledge and his evolution to the selectivity of his gaze and the persistent and regular exercise of his trained skill.

In his gestural drawings, sometimes only in black and white, sometimes in multicolored tones, he draws the viewer's attention.

The emotional indifference to the color gray is balanced by a very physical touch of the pen, which becomes a passionate co-dance in his work. The physical touch of the pencil transforms the drawing into a passionate dance.

The artist can use different techniques to achieve a watercolor effect. For example, he uses a mixed oil and dry technique and a special paint.

The tendency to represent reality as fiction is clearly evident. The exploration of reality that Puche practices ultimately allows the apparent value to rise to its true value. His works clearly evoke uncertainty and create a sense of discomfort.

Throughout his career, Puche is the only European artist invited to the group exhibition "9 Hour of Underground" and has exhibited at the Centre Pompidou, CAC Málaga, Sydney Opera House, and has participated in fairs such as YIA Art Fair (Paris), Basel Scope Art Show New York and Switzerland. This year she has had solo exhibitions at Puche Madrid, Xavier Fiol gallery in Madrid and Palma de Mallorca. He has also won several awards, including the International Emerging Artists Award (Dubai) in 2016.
